CO-PARENTING SERVICE

RE-SHAPING YOUR FAMILY

YOUR NEEDS

When it comes to reshaping your family, how you work together matters. You need to transition to successful co-parents. There are many hurdles to navigate: schooling choices, introduction of new partners and maintaining, above all, the integrity of your new family structure.

Separating parents are often directed to many different professionals. But often all they really need is some practical advice, together, from an impartial specialist family lawyer who can explain what’s legally ‘normal’, how co-parenting works and help set up a bespoke parenting plan which suits the family as a whole.

OUR ANSWER

So, we decided to do something about it. Our co-parenting service can be as light-touch or in-depth as you need. Crucially, you’ll be getting advice together from one lawyer you share. Some of our services include:

1. One-off joint consultation with a solicitor to set you on the right co-parenting track.

2. Legal support to write a parenting plan.

3. Follow-ups when life throws a curveball: holiday arrangements, school choices.

HOW IT WORKS

1. You each attend separate Introductory Sessions to identify your aims, the key legal issues, your suitability for a joint service and any additional information we need.

2. We send a quote for the service you’re interested in.

3. You get the advice you need within your timeframe, and the best start to your new co-parenting journey.

4. Our process can also involve child inclusive work if that is what your family needs.

FEES

In line with The Divorce Surgery ethos, this is a fixed fee service. We charge £900 per couple for a 90 minute consultation with a shared solicitor and £1500 for a solicitor-drafted parenting plan. For many couples, this will be all the input they need.

If your situation is more complex and you’re looking for specialist barrister input, the service starts at £5,700 per couple. We offer free guidance calls so you can find out more about our process before you commit. Depending on your situation, if we think any additional services would be helpful, whether under our umbrella or not, we will always let you know.
